Flykrav takes your privacy seriously. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and what rights you have.
Data controller
The data controller for your personal data is Flykrav AS (org.no. 937 691 971), contactable at kontakt@flykrav.no. We process personal data in accordance with the GDPR as implemented in Norwegian law through the Personal Data Act (personopplysningsloven).
What data do we collect?
We only collect data that is necessary to process your claim:
- Name (first and last)
- Email address and optionally phone number
- Flight details: route, date, airline and flight number
- Information about the delay or cancellation
- Documents you upload (boarding pass, booking confirmation, airline emails, etc.)
We do not collect payment information. We require no payment upfront.
What do we use the data for?
- Assessing whether you are eligible for compensation under EU Regulation 261/2004
- Pursuing a claim against the airline on your behalf
- Escalating to the Civil Aviation Authority (Luftfartstilsynet) or equivalent body if needed
- Communicating with you about the status of your claim
- Sending you email confirmations and updates
Legal basis (GDPR)
- Contract (Art. 6(1)(b)): processing is necessary to deliver the service you have requested.
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): where you explicitly consent to processing beyond what is strictly necessary, such as uploading documents.
Who do we share data with?
We only share data where necessary to process your claim:
- The airline, to submit and document your claim
- The Civil Aviation Authority (Luftfartstilsynet) or equivalent enforcement body, when escalating
- Email service provider, under a data processing agreement
- Provider of data storage services, under a data processing agreement
- Provider of hosting and infrastructure services, under a data processing agreement
We never sell your personal data and do not use it for marketing or advertising.
How long do we keep your data?
We retain data about your claim for as long as the case is active, and for up to 3 years thereafter in line with the Norwegian limitation period for flight compensation claims. Data is deleted after this period.
Cookies
We use Google Analytics 4 to analyse traffic on our website. Analytics is only activated after you have given consent via the cookie banner shown on your first visit. No personally identifiable information is collected through our analytics. You can withdraw your consent at any time by clearing cookies in your browser settings.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Rectification — request corrections to inaccurate data
- Erasure — request deletion of your data (the 'right to be forgotten')
- Restriction — request that processing is restricted in certain circumstances
- Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests
